Check out the Gutsy Women tour

Hey, girls! Mary Ann Anderson, a nationally syndicated travel and humor writer — not to mention a Georgia resident — will escort a six-day Gutsy Women Travel tour of Savannah and Charleston beginning Oct. 8.

Anderson's books include titles such as "From Grits and Gravy to Sweet Potato Pie," and "Ain't Nothin' Sweeter than a Magnolia Moon."

Highlights of the tour include a ghost tour as an introduction to Savannah; lunch at Savannah's The Lady & Sons Restaurant, owned by TV Food Network's Paula Deen; attending a performance at the historic Savannah Theatre; a walking tour of Charleston; a guided tour of Boone Hall Plantation; a visit to Middleton Place plantation and gardens; and a farewell dinner at Magnolias Restaurant in Charleston's original Customs House. (Try the warm cream cheese brownie for dessert!) The week is full of unique activities and some free time.
