Indiana surprise
LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Hundreds of Buckeye fans will travel to this city in west-central Indiana when Ohio State plays Purdue University on Oct. 6.

Many fans probably will do no more than follow the posted route from I-65 through the sprawl along U.S. 52 to Ross-Ade Stadium in West Lafayette. That will be their loss.

Underestimating this attractive town of 60,000 (another 25,000 live in West Lafayette) is easy for visitors who stay in hotels near the freeway and drive directly across the Wabash River to the game and back.
