Tourism Minister to travel to Florida
Tourism Minister Ed Bartlett is to travel to Florida Thursday.

Mr. Bartlett is to meet with US-based cruise shipping officials to discuss developments in Jamaica's tourism sector.

The Tourism Minister will also hold talks with Caribbean Private Sector Tourism interests and the Miami-based staff of the Jamaica Tourist Board.

Despite a soft tourism market, Mr. Bartlett has declared his intention to increase tourism arrivals to three million over the next twelve months.

During a de-briefing session with senior technical staff at his Ministry Wednesday, Mr. Bartlett was upbeat about the progress of discussions with industry stakeholders.

Since Monday, the Tourism Minister has met with officials of the hotel industry and Air Jamaica to get updates on developments in the sector.
