US travel agents visit country

As Antigua and Barbuda gears up for the 2007 winter season, the Ministry of Tourism will be playng host to three different groups of travel agents, totalling approximately 200, from the United States this week.

The largest contingent, which comprises 160 agents, will arrive via charter from Newark, New Jersey tomorrow, and will do an intensive one-day tour of the destination. This programme sponsored jointly by Sandals Grande and the Ministry of Tourism will do a final site inspection of the new Mediterranean Village at Sandals, before it opens in the next few weeks.

A luncheon is planned where the agents will hear an address by Tourism Minister Harold Lovell and a presentation by US Director of Tourism Derede Samuel-Whitlock.
